10 million people die every year from cancer. More than one third of cancer cases can be prevented. Another third can be cured if detected early and treated properly.
2020 marks the 20th anniversary of World Cancer Day. Through the years, we have witnessed extraordinary breakthroughs in medicine, diagnostics, and scientific knowledge.
Since 15 years, Alsachim contributes to the fight against cancer by developing innovative compounds in oncology:
In its desire to contribute to the fight against cancer Alsachim has developed a unique labeled standard of Thiotepa: [13C6] Thiotepa; an anti-cancer agent for the treatment of breast, ovary and bladder cancer.
Also, Alsachim has developed Tyrosine Kinase inhibitors which are at the center of cancer research approved by the Food and Drug Administration. There are several types of tyrosine kinases and are used in countless cell functions. Including cell signaling, growth, and division. Tyrosine Kinase inhibitors allow to block certain protein kinases in a way that may help hold cancer cells from developing.
At the same time, new studies have established a link between Dehydropyrimidine Dehydrogenase deficiency (DPD) and the toxicity of 5 Fluoro-Uracil, one of the most widely administered anti-cancer agents for the treatment of solid tumor cancer. To enable accurate analysis of uracil concentration in plasma, Alsachim has developed the essential labeled standards for this analysis.
